HAHIRA — Bring a blanket and the family for a free movie in the park.

The Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority will show the animated blockbuster “Monsters, Inc.” startig 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at North Lowndes Park, 7715 Sonny Rogers Memorial Drive. 

The authority will show the G-rated Disney film on its inflatable screen, which is 20-feet wide and 11-feet tall. There is no fee to watch the movie and no registration necessary, according to an authority press release. 

VLPRA encourages families to attend and to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Picnics are welcome and VLPRA will sell limited concessions on a cash-only basis.

VLPRA has several movies scheduled for the fall and winter season. The Authority will show “Moana” (rated PG), Nov. 10, at Freedom Park; “The Santa Clause” (rated PG), Dec. 19, at Drexel Park; “The Grinch” (rated PG), Dec. 21, at J.W. Saunders Park; “Beauty and the Beast” (rated PG), Feb. 23, at Drexel Park.
