Jasper man charged in Wednesday accident

A semi truck collided with a car Wednesday afternoon.

LIVE OAK, Fla. — A Jasper driver was charged with careless driving following a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 129 Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Live Oak Police Department, Joe Sapp, 85, of Jasper was waiting to pull out of a parking lot when his foot slipped off the brake pedal.

The report states that Sapp’s vehicle entered U.S. 129, in front of a 10-wheel truck driven by Larry Gaffney, 59, of Newberry.

According to Chief Buddy Williams, there were no injuries reported by Gaffney, Sapp or Sapp’s passenger, Sally Sapp, 81, also of Jasper.
