As Valdosta grows, businesses open, move, renovate and close down. The following is a list of recent business happenings in Lowndes County and the surrounding area.

VALDOSTA

• Weddings for Less, 913 N. Ashley St. Ste. C, moved Oct. 20 from a home operation. The business is open Tuesday through Saturday. For more information call (229) 506-4613. 

• Winnersville Motors, 901 N. Ashley St., is set to open Nov. 6. The business sells gently used cars. For more information call (229) 333-0318.

• Hill Lighting Llc, 3767 Creek Wood Drive, opened Oct. 20. It is a seasonal holiday decoration service. More information: Call (229) 251-7033.

• Shades of K Boutique is an online vendor only; it opened Oct. 27. The business sells women’s clothing and shoes, shades for men, women and children and men’s clothing seasonally. For more information, visit www.shadesofkboutique.com.

• Lash Lifts By Allison, 223 N. Ashley St. Suite 308, is expected to open Nov. 13. The business does eye lash lifts and tinting. For more information, call (912) 584-0093.

• Legacy Realtors, 100 Jackson St., opened Oct. 9. The business is full real estate business and sells commercial and residential properties as well as rental properties. The business also has first-time homebuyer classes. For more information, call (229) 262-2855.

• Book and Table, 120 N. Patterson St., is currently under construction and has suspended its lunch operations in the meantime. However, the book portion of the restaurant is still operating.

• The old Rutland’s Music building, 2541 Bemiss Road, is being remodeled. It has several holes in the wall, and the building permit outside lists the business as a liquor store with a drive through. The store is anticipated to be open around Thanksgiving.

• Wendy’s, 1609 N. Ashley St., is currently under construction and has the majority of the walls on the outside built.

• Zacadoo’s, 1501 N. Ashley St., is remodeling inside; the drive-through appears to be blocked off by fencing.
