The Class A-Public state championship game Saturday at the Mercedes Benz Stadium has been postponed, according to a statement released by the Georgia High School Association on Friday afternoon.

Region 2-A rivals No. 8 Clinch County and No. 4 Irwin County were due to clash in a rematch of the 2015 state title game Saturday at 10 a.m., but due to worsening weather conditions in Atlanta, the Class A-Public championship was one of three title games postponed.

The Class A-Private, 2A, 3A, 4A and 7A games will be played at the Mercedes Benz Stadium as scheduled, while the Class A-Public, 5A and 6A games will be moved to next week.

Instead of Atlanta, the Class A-Public state championship game will be played at the home field of the higher-seeded Irwin County Indians in Ocilla. The time and date have yet to be determined.
