Lowndes’ Barrett named AJC’s 7A offensive player of the year

Lowndes quarterback Michael Barrett was named Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Class 7A offensive player of the year, as a part of its 2017 all-state high school football team.

Barrett’s teammate, offensive lineman Jalen Goss, was named to the offensive team.

Valdosta linebacker Zakoby McClain was named to the Class 6A defensive team. 

In 3A, Cook offensive lineman Brock Jones garnered all-state offense recognition. Teammate Darius Cleveland (RB) was an honorable mention.

Brooks County defensive lineman Tae’Aviion Gray and linebacker Rahjon Holden were honorable mentions from Class 2A.

Clinch County offensive lineman C.J. Gwynn was recognized on Class A-public’s offensive team. Defensive lineman John Mincey garnered defensive team honors, along with linebacker Trezmen Marshall. QB/RB Charles McClelland was named an honorable mention.
