OK, everyone must see this movie.

Everyone.

Katherine Graham, sometimes called the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, ran the Washington Post in the1960s and ‘70s.

Ben Bradlee was its high-profile editor.

Richard Nixon was in the White House.

When the newspaper came into possession of the Pentagon Papers, exposing a massive coverup regarding the nation’s involvement in the Vietnam War, it was faced with a moral and financial dilemma.

Knowing a decision to publish the controversial papers could be the financial ruin of the newspaper, what was Graham, played by Meryl Streep, and Bradlee, played by Tom Hanks, to do?

Despite the First Amendment and the freedom of the press, The Post and the New York Times faced an order from a U.S. President’s administration attempting to put a muzzle on the media.

What was the newspaper to do?

Meryl Streep is an amazing actress.

Tom Hanks has come a long way since the movie “Big” and is the best actor in this movie whose name is not Meryl Streep.

But the importance of seeing this movie is not about the movie.

It is not about the acting.

It is not about the soundtrack.

It is not about the directing.

It is not about the producer.

It is not about the cinematography

It is not about the script writing.

It is about what happened.

It is about the freedom of the press.

It is about the First Amendment.

It is about America.

Go see this movie.
