Georgia Christian competes in math contest

DASHER — Georgia Christian School upper-level math students participated in Kennesaw State University’s mathematics competition, Part I.
Ten GCS students competed last year after school by answering 25 multiple-choice questions in a 90-minute time period, according to school officials.

Six points were given for a correct response, two points were given for no response and zero points were given for an incorrect response or multiple responses. Students receiving scores in the highest 5 percent to 10 percent statewide were invited to participate in Part II of the competition.
“Although Georgia Christian School did not have anyone to qualify for Part II, we are very proud of their efforts,” according to school officials.
Michael Yared received the highest score from Georgia Christian School. Other students included Ivan Seasholtz, Landyn Russell, Annie Eilders, Phillip Barrett, Lacey Barrett, Jake Milton, Heidi Jones, Gunner Lambert and Lukas Smidtas, according to the school.
