Registration is open for the 19th annual Heart-2-Heart race, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas. This year events will include a 5K run, 10K run, 1-mile fun run for youth, and a 3-mile walk beginning at 7:30 a.m.
In 2017, the event attracted more than 260 runners and walkers. This year’s event offers refreshments, medals, raffle prizes and commemorative T-shirts for all pre-registered participants. Top prizes for the overall first, second and third male and female winners will include $150, $75 and $25 VISA cards. Designer medals will be awarded to top-three 5K runners in five age divisions for both male and female, allowing more winners for the Georgia Grand Prix Series. All 10K participants will receive finisher medals. Everyone will have the opportunity to win some great door prizes, including electronics, shirts, hats and loads of other items.
The 5K (3.1 mile) course will start and finish in the front parking area of Coffee Regional Medical Center.
“CRMC obviously has a strong connection with the community as it relates to hospital-based care. With an event like the 5K run /walk, we are trying to highlight the wellness and preventative health aspect of what we do at the Wellness Center,” said CRMC Wellness Center director and run coordinator Danny McCarty. “The annual race promotes heart health and general wellness while we have some fun.”
Can’t run? Join loads of other walkers who successfully complete it every year.
