The Trojans bring back pitchers Padgett and Hunter, who will also be key contributors at the plate.

HCHS left its mark last season with an upset win against Lafayette, handing the Hornets their first district loss since 2011. Head coach Bobby Wintons acknowledged that Hamilton County is still in the process of improving. But he’s expecting another good season.

“We’re building our program here,” said Wintons. “We should be pretty good this year.”

HCHS heads to Jefferson County on Tuesday for the first game of the season.
