In the book, two teenage friends that grew up together in a small town have a history project to do. As they try and figure out what they should choose as the subject of their project, they stumble into a mystery. Discovering a new surprise in every turn of events, the girls get a history lesson of their own.

Carothers is married and the mother of five daughters and one son. She was the middle child of five herself, growing up in a small town in North Florida.

Attending Lafayette High School, Carothers played football as a freshman and was on the flag team as a sophomore. She graduated from LHS in 2002.

Growing up, Carothers was always exploring and climbing anything she could. She enjoys walking, doing things with her kids, and watching scary movies with family. She attends Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mayo.

She said writing this book was a way of putting her imagination to good use.
