THOMASVILLE — An Albany man is facing 10 different charges after law enforcement reportedly halted his delivery of drugs.
Ronald Denorth Taylor, 27, was arrested after law enforcement received information of a delivery of methamphetamine to a Highway 19 South hotel, according to Louis Schofill, Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division commander.
“Agents had set up surveillance and witnessed (the suspect) pull into the hotel,” Schofill said.
Drug agents made contact and apprehended the suspect.
While in a law enforcement vehicle, Taylor attempted to hide an amount of drugs in his possession underneath the backseat, Schofill said.
“All this was caught on camera,” the drug squad commander added.
Agents recovered a “huge cache” of drugs, Schofill said, including methamphetamine, crack cocaine, MDMA, and heroin.
The recovered heroin tested positive for fentanyl, according to a drug agent.
Taylor is charged with numerous possession offenses, along with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking drugs within 1,000 feet of a school and carrying contraband beyond the guard line.
“We’re looking to prosecute him federally,” Schofill said.
