Based on an exhibit held at the National Gallery in London, “Exhibition on Screen: The Impressionists and the Man who Made Them,” focuses on 19th Century Parisian art collector Paul Durand-Ruel.

It was his continual support and financial backing and refusal to give up that established one of the most loved and recognizable movements in Western art – Impressionism.

Alongside the opportunity to see some of the Impressionists’ most famous works up close on the big screen, the film offers diary extracts and insights from Durand-Ruel and the artists in their own words.

The film also ventures behind the scenes, as the galleries prepare for one of the biggest exhibitions of the year.

Curators talk about the paintings and crucial decisions about where and how to hang this remarkable collection of art. Some of the most important authorities on the Impressionists are featured, the release states.

The film is produced in London by award-winning arts documentary maker Phil Grabsky & Seventh Art Productions.

Glynn Hendricks Interiors is the sponsor for the event.

The Museum is located downtown at 255 Love Avenue.
