REMERTON — A three-hour-long standoff at a Remerton apartment building ended after a Lowndes County SWAT team found no one inside.
The Remerton Police Department is looking for Glenn Davis in connection to a domestic violence call at an apartment on Victory Street that was made around 10 a.m. Thursday. Davis is also wanted for a Cook County warrant.

Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk said the situation began when Remerton police received a 911 call about a domestic disturbance. The wife called police and told them her husband threatened to kill himself and her with a gun.
Derrick Sinclair, an investigator with the Remerton Police Department, said police arrived shortly after the call and found the wife outside the apartment.
“When we got here, we tried to make contact, but no one answered,” Sinclair said. “Because of safety concerns, we don’t rush into an apartment when someone has a gun. You take your time. You want them to come out and surrender peacefully.”
Law-enforcement agencies then blocked off multiple roads in the area and evacuated all the surrounding apartments. Officials attempted to make contact with Davis, but never received a response.
All the information law enforcement had on the situation came from Davis’ wife, who spent the standoff outside the apartment. She told police they only had one phone and she took it with her outside the apartment to call police, Sinclair said.
Eventually, officials shot four smoke grenades into the apartment and entered to find no one inside.
