LOPD interrupts drug deal

LIVE OAK, Fla. — Three men were arrested after a drug deal was interrupted by the Live Oak Police Department at a Live Oak home March 22.

According to LOPD, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle with stolen Alabama plates in front of a residence on Piedmont Street.

The report states as officers approached the vehicle, Christopher Province, 25, of McAlpin, fled on foot towards the residence.

The officer apprehended Province inside the kitchen area of the residence.

According to the report, in plain and open view, was a large amount of cannabis on the counter and inside a box on the floor.

The homeowner was identified as Samuel Reed, 63, of Live Oak, and he was placed under arrest for cannabis possession.

The report states that approximately 500 grams of cannabis was inside the home.

A second suspect, identified as Cory Nettles, 30, of Live Oak, was in the vehicle during the chase, the report states.

A search of the vehicle revealed an additional 68 grams of cannabis, 6 grams of methamphetamine, a 12 gauge shotgun, a .38 caliber pistol and other drug paraphernalia, the report states.

The report states that Nettles and Province brought 500 grams of cannabis to sell to Reed but officers interrupted the exchange.

Nettles was charged with cannabis possession, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm during felony.

Province was charged with possession of cannabis, resisting arrest without violence and theft of a motor vehicle.

Reed was charged with cannabis possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
