Trenton Berryhill hits, pitches Lanier County past Turner County

Trenton Berryhill had a home run with three RBIs and allowed one run in five innings on the mound to power the Lanier County baseball team past the Turner County Rebels 8-2 on Thursday.
Berryhill went 2 for 2 at the plate and surrendered five hits, delivered six strikeouts and walked one in earning the Region 2-A win.
Andrew Rowland offered two hits, including a double, with two RBIs for the Bulldogs. Noah Tuten doubled and finished with two hits, an RBI and scored a run. Tuten relieved Berryhill with two innings, allowing one run and one hit with four strikeouts and five walks.
Lanier tallied 11 hits to Turner’s six.
The Bulldogs grabbed a 4-0 lead after the first inning and pulled ahead 5-0 before the Rebels responded with a run in the fourth. Berryhill homered to right field to give Lanier a comfortable 6-1 advantage in the seventh.
Lanier returns to action today, visiting Charlton County for another Region 2-A contest at 6 p.m. in Folkston.
