Suwannee County approves wireless network for stadium

LIVE OAK — A technology upgrade is coming to Paul Langford Stadium.
The Suwannee County Board of County Commissioners approved the technology for a stadium wireless network at Tuesday night’s meeting.
The school district requested to utilize the Judicial Annex network facilities to provide “Guest Wireless Internet Access” at the Suwannee High School athletic stadium.
According to Superintendent Ted Roush, this internet access will be for the school district to venture out into broadcasting events at the stadium.
County Administrator Randy Harris expects the wireless access to be completed in May.
Lineman Appreciation Day
The commissioners passed a resolution recognizing National Lineman Appreciation Day.
National Lineman Appreciation Day will be April 9.
Jon Little, of Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative, presented the resolution to the commissioners.
The resolution states a lineman’s job takes courage and is essential to keeping our nation safe and working.
It also stated the importance and difficulty of the job that is seldom recognized.
Insurance audit
Lee Harvard with B.W. Helvenston & Sons Insurance presented the commissioners with a check for $9,865.
Harvard said the county receives an annual audit of payroll, general liability and worker’s compensation.
The funds are returned to the county because the payrolls were less than originally estimated.
