STATESBORO, Ga. — A Valdosta resident is in the Bulloch County Jail after reports of a naked man chasing children around a park, according to Statesboro police.
At 7:50 p.m. Thursday, May 3, officers responded to a Statesboro park after getting calls about a naked man chasing children in the playground area, according to a statement from the Statesboro Police Department. The father of the children subdued and detained the naked man before police arrived, the statement said.
None of the children were harmed, and the suspect was arrested without incident, police said.
The naked man was identified by Statesboro police as Jarred Shane Woodruff, 23. The police statement lists him as a Statesboro resident, but records at the Bulloch County Jail, where he was booked, list a Lake Laurie Drive, Valdosta, address for Woodruff.
He is charged with four counts of attempted aggravated assault with intent to rape a child, four counts of attempted child molestation, four counts of attempted cruelty to children in the first degree, four counts of attempted kidnapping and one count of felony public indecency, according to the Statesboro police report.
Jail records show bond had not been set for Woodruff as of Tuesday.
