Carlton Hall leads the Bulldog offense into the spring game against Florida High.

LIVE OAK — Spring football is back at the Dog House.

For the first time since 2015, Suwannee will play its spring game in front of the home crowd at Paul Langford Stadium. The Bulldogs match up with the Florida High Seminoles today at 7:30 p.m.

Florida High defeated SHS 20-7 last year in the spring game and went on to have an excellent season. The Seminoles ended up 7-6 and advanced to the state semifinals in Class 3A.

“Florida High will bring a good team at us. They return an experienced group,” said third-year Suwannee head coach Kyler Hall. “I’m excited to have a home spring game. It’s not the end all. There are going to be mistakes. But it’s the next step in our development.”

There will be a lot of familiar faces and proven players taking the field for the Bulldogs. Rising junior Josh Braun, an all-state honorable mention last year, headlines a big offensive line. The Bulldogs lost three seniors from last year’s O-line, but will be strong there once again with the additions of Dawson Chitwood and Reagan Barry.

They’ll be clearing the way for rising senior Carlton Hall. Hall rushed for 836 yards in 2016 and 904 yards in 2017 despite missing some time during both seasons due to injury.

At quarterback, and possibly running back or wide receiver, will be Tyree Taylor and Jaquez Moore.

Defensively, the Bulldogs feature an experienced d-line and some new linebackers this season that Kyler Hall said he is excited about.
