LIVE OAK — Voters in the City of Live Oak’s District 4 can make their voice count — and heard — today.

The city’s runoff election runs today until 7 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, 830 Pinewood Dr. SW.

The runoff election is between Mark Stewart and Norman Crawford. Stewart is a former city councilman seeking a return to the council, while Crawford has been active pushing for change as a resident the past few years.

In last month’s regular city election, Stewart garnered 109 votes or 35.5 percent of the ballots while Crawford received 77 (25.08 percent) votes. That pushed them into the runoff, which had early voting last week, in a four-man race that also included John W. Hill and Jerry Poole.

The winner of the election will take office next month alongside new District 1 councilor Robintina Reed, who defeated incumbent John Yulee Sr., last month.

Frank Davis, the current District 4 councilman, will then move into the mayoral seat.

John Gill was not opposed in seeking re-election for city clerk.
