THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics Vice Division carried out three search warrants Friday morning, netting a cache of drugs and two suspects.
Along with the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the SWAT team, drug squad agents carried out search warrants at 1411 and 1413 A and B Dawson Street. There, they found 100 pills of ecstasy, an amount of marijuana and a firearm, according to drug squad commander Louis Schofill.
“Agents had been making undercover buys at those residences,” he said.
That led to agents applying for the search warrants.
Arrested in the Friday operation were Lorenzo Coston Jr. and Tajonni Keron Rolack. Coston has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Rolack has been charged with trafficking in ecstasy.
Schofill said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests could be made.
In a separate case Sunday, agents and Boston Police responded to a domestic dispute in Boston and a suspect there, Richard Hightower, attempted to throw a tote bag that had a quarter-pound of marijuana and 10 ounces of powder. Hightower denied owning the bag to authorities, said assistant commander Keith Newman.
“Through investigation, it was determined the items in the bag belonged to him,” Newman said.
Hightower was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Last Wednesday, agents carried out a search warrant at 707 Marshall St. Schofill said undercover agents had made multiple buys of drugs there.
“We received numerous complaints about drug activity,” Schofill said.
When they entered the home, agents smelled marijuana, saw scales and baggies and also found a bag of nearly one pound of marijuana stashed in the oven, Schofill said. They also found two dozen vacuum-sealed bags with marijuana residue. Agents also found $9,400 in cash in one of the bedrooms.
Authorities arrested J.B. Holland III, who was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
