VALDOSTA — Surrounded by the history preserved in the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce building, Felicia Hunter, the new H-83 area director, installed the newly elected officers of Valdosta’s three Toastmasters International clubs into their roles for the coming year.
Officers from the Moody Talking Tigers, Titletown Toastmasters and Valdosta Toasts all pledged to uphold the conduct, and to perform the duties, of their positions within their respective organizations, according to members.
The core responsibilities of each officer are to maintain the level of excellence necessary for members to learn and grow in the key areas of communication and leadership and to promote Toastmasters to the public.
These men and women are presiding over an exciting change in Toastmasters International’s educational program: virtual learning, according to members. Toastmasters’ new Pathways Education system provides resource-rich programs to help members achieve both personal and professional goals.
Pathways is accessible via most electronic devices (computer, tablet, and smartphones), making it both user-friendly and convenient, according to members.
Toastmasters International has a proven track record of developing people into confident communicators and leaders. In addition to the educational program, each club holds weekly meetings.
Meetings are the core of Toastmasters. Members take their Pathways learning and put it into practice, through prepared speeches and by taking leadership roles during the meetings. It is a supportive and nurturing environment, with members of all abilities, working together to improve themselves and their fellow toastmasters, according to members.
Guests and prospective members are encouraged to visit their local clubs to see what Toastmasters International can do for them.
