MOULTRIE, Ga. — Windstream, a leading provider of advanced network communications, will hold a local back-to-school supply donation drive July 16 through Aug. 17.

The community can donate new school supplies and other classroom materials by placing donations in the collection bins at the Windstream retail store located at 537 Veterans Parkway N.E.

As the new school year approaches, the National Retail Federation estimates that families will spend an average of $674 on needed back-to-school supplies and clothing, the company said in a press release.

“Here at Windstream we are committed to giving to local schools/organizations in need,” said Summer Hart, Moultrie retail store manager. “This school supply drive will allow many students in our community to have access to the essential school supplies that are necessary for them to succeed in the classroom.”

Students’ and teachers’ wish lists include basic school supplies, such as paper, crayons, scissors, pencils, pens, glue, markers, folders, and erasers, as well as other items used in classrooms every day, such as tissues and hand sanitizer.

All donations received from the drive will be provided to the Moultrie Boys and Girls Club.

As part of Windstream’s continued involvement in the community, anyone that goes to a retail store during the school supply drive can enter to win a Chromebook 11. A donation is not required to enter the drawing.
