VALDOSTA –– The Berrien Rebels (1-1) bounced back with a strong all-around effort on both sides of the ball in a 29-16 victory against Atkinson County last week.

The Rebels hope to keep the momentum going at home tonight against the Bacon County Raiders (0-2), who have been outscored 94-7 in their first two games this season.

Rebels running back Ken Bennett put on a show against Atkinson County last week. The junior had 15 carries for 182 yards and two scores, averaging just over 12 yards per carry.

Defensively, the Rebels also imposed their will as Titan Blevins tallied 14 tackles (10 solo) in the win while Davonte Jones had nine tackles and two sacks.

“Defense played a really good game,” Alligood said after the win. “The only score we gave up defensively was a busted coverage late in the second half.”

The Rebels lost last season’s road matchup with the Raiders 22-12 and have lost three of the last four meetings. However, Berrien still owns the advantage with a 17-11 record all-time against Bacon County.

Kickoff for tonight’s game is scheduled for 7:30.
