The top four girls finishers included Suwannee's Courtney Sasso and Nellie Lamb and Branford's Jessie Sikes.

LIVE OAK — Suwannee and Branford competed in a three-team cross country meet Thursday at Heritage Park.

The Bulldogs finished first in both the boys and girls competition with the Buccaneers taking second. Bradford came in third place.

Suwannee’s Ricardo Cruz was the top runner with a time of 19:13. Branford’s Billy Procko finished just behind him at 19:28. Kobe Hudson finished third and Jorge Soto came in fourth for SHS. Allan Bruno of BHS placed fifth.

For the SHS girls, Courtney Sasso finished first at 25:11. Nellie Lamb was second with a time of 25:32 and Merlin Leal was fifth. Branford’s Jessie Sikes ran a time of 27:50 to come in third while Nathalia Veal was sixth.
