VALDOSTA — RKDS Entertainment & Media will release the DVD of its feature film, “Spook Bridge,” in October.
The DVD release will be the beginning of the film going national, producers said.
Roy Kirkland, co-owner and producer, said the film will be distributed nationwide this year through various marketing venues but added he wanted to allow residents of South Georgians an opportunity to purchase the DVD first.
“This is a filmmaker’s dream to have your work shown on the big screen the way ‘Spook Bridge’ has been shown on several occasions. We are very excited about this South Georgia-produced film and are giving area residents a chance to have their own copy,” Kirkland said.
The film was re-edited from an R rating to a PG version.
RKDS Entertainment & Media will present a DVD release party, beginning 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Mathis City Auditorium multi-purpose room, 2300 N. Ashley St.
Although the movie will not be shown, the event will include food, Coca Cola products, popcorn, chances for ticket holders to win prizes from area merchants, a Halloween costume contest, entertainment which includes country artist John Emanuel singing the theme song, “The Legend of Spook Bridge.”
The 1960s replica Batmobile, owned locally by Van McDowell, will also be on display.
DVDs, Blu-Rays, T-shirts and posters of the film will be available for purchase as well.
Tickets for the event are $15 which includes a copy of the DVD or $25 which includes a copy of the Blu-ray, producers said. Tickets and merchandise may be purchased at the event or visit SpookBridge.com
