Georgia Power reports at 7:30 a.m. Thursday areas here and there in the region where a handful to a few dozen people are without power, according to its outage map. Colquitt EMC does not have numbers on its outages, according to its website.

The Georgia Power outage map can be found at http://outagemap.georgiapower.com, where customers can also report an outage in their area.

With the calls of power outages and downed trees diminishing, the Lowndes County Emergency Management Operations Center wrapped hour-by-hour operations at about 1 a.m. Thursday.

The center will estimate damages Thursday morning. The operations center estimated 10,000 Lowndes County residents were without power at 1 a.m. Thursday.

“Crews are going to begin working to restore power as quickly as humanly possible but everyone should understand that due to the devastation experienced by all of our neighbors west of us, plus the uncertainty of the extent of damage and required repairs it may be a while before everyone’s power is completely restored,” Emergency Management noted. “Please exhibit as much patience as you can and know that every available crew is working as hard as possible to get all utilities restored.”

Emergency Management expects to release impact numbers before noon Thursday.
