Sandy Hurst seeks the County Commissioner District 2 seat in Hamilton County.

I am Sandy Hurst and would like to say it is indeed an honor and privilege to be a candidate for County Commissioner District 2, which covers Precinct 5 Bright Pond Baptist Church and Precinct 8 Cross Roads, here in Hamilton County.

I was born in Wellborn, Florida and came to Hamilton County when I was 16 years old when my Father was called as the Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church.  I graduated from Jennings High School, where I met my high school sweetheart, Wayne Hurst and married him 54 years ago.  We have three daughters Latrell Smith (Darl), Jenny Dyke (Timmy) and Leah Knotts (Randy).  Our daughters were raised right here in District 2 and attended Hamilton County Schools.

I worked and retired from the County Coordinator’s Office after 17 plus years, gaining valuable experience in all areas of local government.  It was a joy to assist the citizens of our county in any and every way that I could and that was needed.

Hamilton County is my home and what better place is there to be?  I want you to know that I have a heart for the citizens and our county and a desire to serve and continue to see Hamilton County move forward.

I want to be your full-time County Commissioner and will be available to the people of the district and the county.
