Howell said a school bus was stopped on Thigpen Trail with its stop arm extended about 6:50 a.m., and the children were crossing the road to get on it. He said apparently the driver of the car ignored the stop arm and attempted to pass the school bus.
The Observer will continue to seek more details about the accident and will post updates to www.moultrieobserver.com.
