Dalton eliminated from playoff contention

Dalton High School fell on the road to Allatoona Friday night in a game that was close to the end, 27-14.

The loss drops the Catamounts record to 5-4, 3-4 in Region 6-6A and the victory moves Allatoona’s record to 7-2, 6-1 in Region 6-6A.

Allatoona scored first and built a 10-0 lead until Tyis Love scored on a 3-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to cut the Allatoona lead to 10-7. Quarterback Landon Allen scored on a 1-yard quarterback keeper with five minutes left in the ball game to cut the lead to 20-14, but Allatoona would score once more to put away the Catamounts.

The loss eliminates Dalton from playoff contention and the Catamounts will host Osborne next week in the final week of the season.
