Search continues for suspect in 2006 slaying

ENIGMA — After 12 years, authorities are still searching for the triggerman in a fatal triple shooting in Berrien County.

Pedro Peralta is wanted on murder charges in Berrien County, Sheriff Ray Paulk said. Peralta is wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, according to the FBI’s website.

Peralta has been known to use a number of aliases, including Lazaro Benitez, Santiago Yanez Corne Jo, Efram Cornejo, Santiago Cornejo, Santiago Yanez Cornejo, Efrin Yamez, Efren Yanez-Cornejo, Efren Yanez, Efrian Yanez, Efron Cornejo Yanez, Efroncornejo Yanez, Santiago Yanez and Efren Yanezcornejo, according to the FBI.

Berrien County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting at Giddens Trailer Park in Enigma at about 11:50 p.m. April 15, 2006.

Three men were talking in front of a trailer when they were each shot multiple times. Aurelio Rosales, 32, suffered fatal wounds. A 30-year-old and a 15-year-old were treated for their injuries, according to authorities.

Peralta is approximately 52 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, according to the FBI
