A Times report published Friday, Oct. 26, about the find sparked the interest of major media outlets such as Time Magazine, Fox News, Yahoo! News, AOL, Newsweek and Teen Vogue.

Other outlets such as Sputnik News, IFL Science, Daily Mail and the Lex18 in Kentucky have also picked up the report.

Earlier this week, The Times article had gained more than 50,000 page views on the publication’s website and nearly 2,000 shares on Facebook.

During the 1900s, there were two dentists that practiced in the Converse Building, according to the Lowndes County Historical Society.

Valdosta Main Street sponsored a contest using a few of the estimated 1,000 teeth.
