JASPER — The Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners approved a bid for courthouse renovations Nov. 6.
The back glass wall of the courthouse will be moved outward to accommodate security equipment.
“We received two bids. One was from Gray Construction out of Trenton at $129,887, the other bid we got was from Plumb Level out of Hamilton County at $171,400,” said County Engineer Greg Bailey.
The bids included moving the wall and installing bulletproof glass.
He said both contractors are reputable and qualified.
“I recommend we award to the lowest bid,” Bailey said.
The board followed Bailey’s recommendation.
