As Valdosta grows, businesses open, move, renovate and close down. The following is a list of recent business happenings in Lowndes County and the surrounding area.
VALDOSTA
• Valdosta Dental Associates, 103 W. Cranford Ave., has put up a sign for a new location at 3119 N. Oak St. Ext.
• Cajun Wild Crab, 282 Norman Drive, has a coming soon sign outside. It is in the old Wahoo Seafood Grill and old second Smok’n Pig location.
• Denny’s, 1328 St. Augustine Road, is currently closed for roof repairs, according to a sign on the door. An inquiry has been submitted to Denny’s for more information and a timeline for when the restaurant will reopen.
• Cinnaholic Gourmet Cinnamon Rolls, 1609 Norman Drive, Suite A2, has a coming soon sign outside of it.
• Enmark, 707 S. Patterson St., is being demolished. Building permits for new construction state the new building will be for a new Enmark gas station.
• Economy Tire, 511 W. Hill Ave., recently moved from 1215 W. Hill Ave., and has reopened after a brief time of being closed for safety enhancements. The business originally expected to be closed for several weeks, but was able to upgrade its systems within a week. For more information, call (229) 241-8988
• Chicago Fire Dogs, 1573 Baytree Road, is expected to open the first weekend of 2019.
• 1853 W. Gordon St. is under development for a mixed-use development that will feature multi-family residential and commercial properties.
• 1415 Baytree Road is under development for an indoor storage facility.
• La Frontera Mexican Fruit Bar, 607 Baytree Road, Suite D, opened Nov. 23. It is a Mexican dessert bar. It is open 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday. For more information, call (229) 630-6695
• Funertia, 1835 Norman Drive, Suite G, was expected to close Dec. 20. For more information, call (229) 588-8650.
• KFC, 3026 N. Ashley St., has been renovated.
