As Valdosta grows, businesses open, move, renovate and close down.
The following is a list of recent business happenings in Lowndes County and the surrounding area.

VALDOSTA
• Torrid, 1700 Norman Drive, has started construction inside the Valdosta Mall. The plus-sized women’s clothing store will open in the former Sears wing of the mall in the location of the former Hallmark. The store is expected to open in March.
• Livi & Company The Market Place, 100 N. Patterson St., has “coming soon” painted on its windows. The painted signs also suggest the business will have designs by Dustin Van Fleet.
• Chicago Fire Dogs, 1573 Baytree Road, is expected to open between Jan. 21-25.
• DuMealz, 3205 Inner Perimeter Road, has relocated to the inside of ICE House Gym. DuMealz is a healthy meal preparation business. It is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (844) 386-5259.
• Stoner’s Pizza Joint, 1211 Baytree Road, has now hiring signs placed at the old Hip Hop Fish and Chicken, Chubby’s Chicken Fingers and More. Stoner’s Pizza Joint’s website states there is a location coming soon to Valdosta at the same address.

• Birdie’s Market and Catering, 206 N. Patterson St., announced as of Jan. 29 it no longer sells coffee, food or retail items. It is now a catering and event space. For more information, call (229) 333-9636.
• Valdosta Dental Associates, 103 W. Cranford Ave., has put up signs for a new location at 3119 N. Oak St. Ext.
• Cinnaholic Gourmet Cinnamon Rolls, 1609 Norman Drive, Suite A2, has a coming soon sign outside of it.
• 1853 W. Gordon St. is under development for a mixed use development that will feature multi-family residential and commercial properties.
• 1415 Baytree Road is under development for an indoor storage facility.
• 3645 Inner Perimeter Road, Friendly Express Gas Station, is under construction. The gas station was supposed to be completed before the end of the year. The business is at the intersection of Inner Perimeter Road and Bemiss Road.
