VALDOSTA — A stray bullet grazed a 1-year-old early Sunday morning as a result of a drive-by shooting.
The child was taken to a Florida hospital after a bullet hit the child’s hand, according to the Valdosta Police Department. Police said the child was in stable condition Monday evening.
At 12:15 a.m. Sunday, several shots were fired into a house at the 1000 block of East Cranford Avenue.
The father of the child fled the scene before police arrived, and the family was unwilling to provide any more information to police, according to VPD.
Police said they are searching for the father who reportedly had a fight with an unknown person before the shooting took place.
The investigation remains under investigation.
