Diabetic Center saved her life

It was with dropped jaw that I read the remarks made by a lady that sued South Georgia Medical Center and its Diabetic Center. That certainly is not the Diabetic Center I know!

I was among the first of patients at the Diabetic Center so I am not a newcomer to their services. I have seen their growth, their attention and patience, and the ultimate care they have for their patients. I have seen them backlogged because their patient load has gotten bigger as patients come from all around Valdosta.

And yes, I have seen boxes stacked in an office because of not having enough space. And maybe sometimes the top of a desk is not spotless because their whole emphasis is on the care of their patient.

I have many times told people that I owe my life as a brittle diabetic to God and to the care I have received at the center. Diabetes is a disease that affects the whole body. A disease that is not easy to deal with, a disease that makes you want to throw up your hands and say the heck with it all but you know you can’t because, if you do, it is not long before a hand, an arm, a foot, or a leg is gone. And it affects all working organs of the body.

So, if you want to live, you do what you are supposed to do. And that is exactly what the Diabetic Center encourages their patients to accomplish.

Thanks to Dr. Jennifer Lawrence, Director Dawn Taylor and all the folks that work at the center. You are the best and I will stand up for you any day. We are blessed to have you in Valdosta, Ga.
