Submitted photo Nearly 300 kings and queens were crowned Friday night at Night to Shine, hosted by First Baptist Church Valdosta. It was the church’s third year hosting the prom experience for individuals with special needs. Through the years it has tripled in participation, with almost 500 volunteers helping make the night a success. Every guest entered the prom on a royal red carpet complete with paparazzi and cheering crowds. Once inside, they danced the night away, were treated to shoe shines, salon experiences and were each crowned king and queen of the prom at the night’s end. Businesses donated food, limo and carriage rides, etc., to make the event a huge success. Night to Shine was founded by the Tim Tebow Foundation and is put on by churches throughout the world each February.
