VALDOSTA — A Florida man caught in Lowndes County March 12 faces armed robbery charges when he is returned to Turner County for trial, according to an investigator.
James Clemente Holloway, 41, of Jacksonville, Fla., was arrested in Lowndes on charges of flee/attempt to elude (felony), suspended license and marijuana-possession, according to Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office reports.
He was sought across South Georgia after a BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued from Turner County following an armed robbery, the report states.
In Turner County, he has been connected to an armed robbery at an interstate rest stop where a wallet with $140 in it was stolen, said Jacob Horsley, an investigator with the Turner County Sheriff’s Office.
Ashley Paulk, Lowndes County sheriff, said the suspect attempted to flee deputies until he realized he was surrounded and quickly gave up the chase.
Holloway is being held in the Lowndes County Jail. Horsley said he is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Turner County.
“He’ll be heading back to Turner County for trial once Lowndes gets their bond covered,” Horsley said.
