A Wednesday morning report posted on times-georgian.com states that former Colquitt County High assistant coach and current Carrollton High head football coach Sean Calhoun will not leave his current position to return to Moultrie.
The article says that Calhoun “had a phone interview with Colquitt County officials on Monday, but decided not to take it any further than that.”

A prepared statement by Carrollton City Schools Superintendent Mark Albertus appearing on the Carrollton newspaper’s website reads: “After much thought, coach Calhoun has decided to continue leading our football program. We feel fortunate that coach Calhoun is a well-respected and sought-after coach who has turned down offers from Buford (for an interview) and Colquitt County to stay with the Trojan Nation. We appreciate his dedication and look forward to more successful seasons of Trojan Football.”
In three seasons at Carrollton, Calhoun is 31-8 and took the Trojans to the Class 5A quarterfinals all three years. Prior to that, he was a part of the Colquitt County High staff as offensive coordinator for the back-to-back state championship teams in 2014-15.
Colquitt County High is looking to fill its head football coaching position after Rush Propst was relieved of his duties by the Board of Education last Thursday following 11 seasons at the helm.
