Jackson said they are hosting a Beta Night on March 28 at the LHS cafeteria at 6 p.m.

There will be trivia, lip-syncing and the winner of the Kiss-A-Pig contest will be announced.

Mallory McCray, Peyton Revels, Jaxson Beach and James Gay are fundraising and the person with the most donations must kiss a pig.

“We are trying to bring Lafayette County together,” Jackson said.

The funds will go towards the National Beta Convention trip.

Christina Torres and Heather Moreno competed in the technology competition and won first place at the State Beta Convention in Orlando on Jan. 18-19.

Torres and Moreno submitted a video that illustrated Beta’s theme: “Today’s Leaders, Tomorrow’s Future.” The video included voice-overs from various past and present Beta leaders.

“We were really excited when we got first place,” Torres said.

“It was a shock to me because our competitors did an amazing job,” Moreno said.
