VALDOSTA – Jennifer Stalvey, a commercial loan officer at Southwest Georgia Bank, graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
Her team won the bank management simulation competition, bank officials said.
The senior bank management simulation course is structured around the bank management simulation computer program. The purpose of the course is to simulate the competitive and economic environment and the effects of decisions made in conducting the affairs of a commercial bank.
Management teams are selected prior to arriving at GSB, and each management team competes with other teams within the community.
Each team is responsible for the management of an $800 million commercial bank. Each team deals with many of the banking problems faced regularly by senior officers in banks across the country.
The teams make daily decisions and receive prompt feedback regarding the consequences of those decisions. The management team that evaluates the environment carefully, demonstrates flexibility and is consistent in making decisions is likely to be the most successful in reaching its goals.
