Turner opens new exhibits

VALDOSTA – The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts opens new art exhibits Monday evening, according to center representatives.
Jamie Harmon, a former Turner Center gallery director, returns with a photography exhibit that expresses his unique vision of the world in Josette’s and Mittiga galleries.
Todd Wessel, a painter, brings his vibrant canvases to the Price-Campbell Foundation Gallery.
Vincent Keesee, a painter of illustrative images that capture humorous slices of life, is scheduled to show works in the Sallie & Harmon Boyette Gallery.
The 11th Annual Valdosta People’s Choice Photography Contest will allow audiences to vote on favorite photographs in the Tillman Gallery.
Works by the Boys & Girls Club Art Explorations members will be on display in the Roberta George Gallery.
Author Trent Busch will sign his book of poetry, “Not One Bit of This is Your Fault,” during the opening reception.
The reception is free and open to the public. It is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 10, Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, 527 N. Patterson St.
The show runs through July 23; admission free. Gallery hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; closed Sundays and Mondays, with exception of designated events.
