Just the title seems impossible.

“Nikola Tesla for Kids: His Life, Ideas and Inventions.”

Tesla spent his childhood years in the Austrian Empire. He moved to the United States as an adult. He was an inventor, an engineer, who developed the modern alternating current electrical system – among many other innovations.

He was also an eccentric individual with a photographic memory.

Amy M. O’Quinn’s book is a full biography of Tesla’s life for children and youths. But it also provides numerous activities for the scientific child.

The book “helps young readers understand the greatness of Tesla while learning various scientific concepts through experiments and activities,” according to Chicago Review Press, the book’s publisher. “Tesla’s life was marked by several achievements – his AC polyphase system and his contributions to electrical engineering forever changed the world – but often his ideas were too advanced for society to welcome.”

Activities include making a soda bottle submarine, creating a flier and building an electric current, etc.

O’Quinn also wrote a similar book with “Marie Curie for Kids.”

As odd as the title may sound, “Tesla” may well be an interesting book for kids. This old man found it an interesting read.

The book is scheduled for release July 9.
