Miller-Cody elected to state municipal board

VALDOSTA – Valdosta City Councilmember Vivian Miller-Cody was elected to the board of directors for the Georgia Municipal Association recently during the association’s annual meeting in Savannah.
Miller-Cody will serve as first vice president of the GMA 11th District. The district includes cities in the following counties: Ben Hill, Coffee, Bacon, Pierce, Brantley, Charlton, Clinch, Echols, Lowndes, Brooks, Lanier, Cook, Berrien, Atkinson, Irwin, Tift and Turner, according to organization representatives.
“We are pleased to have Councilmember Miller-Cody taking on this leadership position,” GMA Executive Director Larry Hanson said. “She’s well respected by her colleagues and I’m sure she’ll provide great leadership to the cities in her district.”
Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and technical assistance services to its 538 member cities.
