VALDOSTA — Drama Kids’ latest production gives different meaning to the word “spotlight.”

The children’s theatre organization has been seeing spots this summer as it has rehearsed for Disney’s “101 Dalmatians KIDS.”

The KIDS designation is similar to plays designated as “junior.” The shows have been modified for children performers.

In this version, the story has been abridged to about 30 minutes, said Lu Baxa and Maggie Smith, Drama Kids Theatre Guild founders.

Director Valerie Gales leads 20-plus children in presenting the show.

Drama Kids show synopsis: “All of London is barking about this exciting adaptation of the classic Disney animated feature ‘101 Dalmatians.’ Join Roger, Anita, Pongo, Perdita and their pups as they race their way through madcap adventures and thwart the villainous Cruella De Vil. Adapted especially for young performers, this musical includes favorite Disney songs including ‘Cruella De Vil’ and ‘Dalmatian Plantation.'”
