LIVE OAK, Fla. — The Live Oak Police Department is asking for help from the public as it tries to recover nearly 50 guns stolen earlier this month from Pro Arms.

The firearms shop in Live Oak was broken in to and burglarized at approximately 3 a.m. July 14 with two unidentified suspects cutting the chain-link fence to get onto the property before breaking the glass on the front right door with a sledgehammer. According to LOPD, the store’s alarm never sounded.

Total, there were 48 firearms stolen from Pro Arms, including both handguns and rifles. Seven rifles that hung on the wall behind the counter were stolen as well as 41 handguns from the glass-case counter, which was also broken with a sledgehammer, according to LOPD.

The two suspects left the scene in a dark-colored car, possibly heading north on U.S. Highway 129 towards Interstate 10, per LOPD.

The LOPD is working with other agencies in its investigation, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The ATF and the National Shooting Sports Foundation are offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspects involved in the robbery.

Anyone with information pertaining to the case is asked to contact Detective Brad Harrison with the LOPD at 386-362-7463.
