QUINCY — Behind Amhwe Bell and a big second quarter, Hamilton County ran past host Robert F. Munroe and to its first win of the season Friday night.

Bell rushed for 291 yards and three touchdowns as the Trojans pulled away from the Bobcats on the way to a 39-13 win.

Tied at 7 after the first quarter, Hamilton (1-8) scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to take control.

Midway through the quarter, quarterback Connor Jones capped a seven-play, 60-yard drive with a 1-yard run to put the Trojans up for good at 14-7. Bell then tacked on his first two scoring runs — 29 yards with 4:22 left in the period and a 3-yard run with 20 seconds left until halftime for a 27-7 lead at the break.

After Foster Bristol scored on a 4-yard run midway through the third, Munroe (1-8) responded with a 76-yard run from Anquine Jordan to close to 33-13.

Bell concluded the scoring with a 62-yard run in the fourth.

HCHS racked up 452 yards of offense — 399 rushing on 50 carries as Jeremiah Gibson added a 57-yard touchdown in the first quarter that tied the game at 7 — and Bristol finished with 44. Bristol also caught one pass from Jones for 33 yards.

Munroe had just 212 yards and turned the ball over three times, setting up Bell’s first touchdown with a short field.

The Trojans will end the season Friday when Paxon visits. The Golden Eagles are 2-7 after six straight losses including a 47-10 setback to Ribault on Thursday.
