WELLBORN — A drug bust at a Wellborn house led to the arrest of one man Tuesday.
The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the house on Lowe Lake Road following an investigation into the manufacture, sale and use of illegal narcotics there. According to an SCSO release, multiple overdoses have occurred at the house, one resulting in death. Another person was revived with Narcan at the residence but law enforcement and EMS were not notified.
As deputies approached the house during the drug bust Tuesday, 50-year-old Richard Lee Robinson, of Wellborn, was sitting on the front porch with a syringe in his hand preparing to inject himself.
Authorities found multiple pharmaceuticals, a large quantity of used needles and assorted drug paraphernalia during a search of the house.
The suspect told investigators that he frequently allows people, including some he doesn’t know, to use the house for drug activity, including selling and manufacturing of narcotics.
Robinson was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
“If you have a house used for illegal drug activity, we are coming for you,” Sheriff Sam St. John said in the release.
