HAHIRA — Valwood’s Lady Valiants enter the GIAA Class 3A volleyball state tournament as the No. 2 seed and are set to host Stratford Academy Tuesday at 4 p.m. in an opening round match.

Two rounds of state will take place at the Eager Sports Center.

Following Valwood’s match, No. 7 Brookstone and No. 10 Mount de Sales will play. Winners of both rounds face off Tuesday night.

The team that survives will play in the semifinals at Newnan Friday, Oct. 6. Brackets can be found on the GIAA’s website.

The Valwood volleyball program is in its 10th year. Program accolades include: two State Championships, 2020 and 2021 and eight region championships. The Lady Valiants are coached by Val Gallahan and her assistant coach, Chad Gallahan.
