VALDOSTA — A Ray City woman died when she was hit by a tractor trailer on Interstate 75 last week. The Georgia State Patrol released a report on the Nov. 20 accident earlier this week.

The GSP said a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was stopped in the center lane of I-75 Southbound just north of Exit 18 at about 1:20 a.m. Nov. 20. A tractor-trailer in the same lane approached the stationary vehicle from behind. The truck driver swerved to avoid hitting it, the GSP said, but struck it in the left rear with the right rear tires of the trailer.

Jessica Ann Camp, 44, believed to have been the driver of the Nissan, was outside the vehicle at the time, the GSP said. The fender mount on the truck’s right side drive axle struck her.

The truck came to a controlled stop in the left-side emergency lane.

Camp fell in front of her vehicle, the GSP said.
